Firefly the TV Series – A Life of It’s Own

Published March 5, 2009 by Judy

The  TV Series Firefly ran in 2002 for 11 of the 14 scheduled episodes on Fox Networks.

I have been a Science Fiction since childhood and would most likely watch anything related to this genre. I was and am an avid viewer of the original series Star Trek in the late sixty’s, canceled prematurely by the Network, Battlestar Galactica in the seventy’s also canceled prematurely, all the Star Wars movies, not canceled but do a little research and you’ll find that the studio really didn’t want to make the first one and the 100’s of other Science Fiction TV shows that were “allowed” on television and let us not forget Space 1999, in my opinion the worst.

I say “allowed” because to the networks; it’s so obvious that you totally detest Science Fiction and care NOT about the Science Fiction Fans; What are you thinking?

Well, you (the networks) say No Ratings my friends The Sci-Fi Channel is making a bundle off of your questionable logic to cancel these shows. (Note To Sci-Fi Channel; Pick up the rights to Firefly if you can afford Battlestar Galactica then you would do well, we think, with new Firefly episodes)

Firefly was one of the best TV series of that year, won many awards (source Wikipedia), and has a rather large following as exhibited with DVD sales and commercial reruns.

TV networks be aware there is vast fan base for Science Fiction, never forget Star Trek, which one of you genius executives canceled, went on to 6 more TV shows, 10 full length feature films with talk of an 11th, without you.

If you are into truly good TV programs that the Networks decided were not good enough try!
